Internationally acclaimed Ballet Magnificat! returns to Thalia Mara Hall with it’s 37th annual Christmas presentation, Most Incredible Christmas on December 17 & 18.
With over 100 dancers in the cast, Most Incredible Christmas is a Broadway-style contemporary ballet highlighting the most extraordinary and incredible thing about the Christmas season. Loveable traditions, songs that capture the spectacle of the season, and reflections on the first Christmas are set to heartwarming, familiar Christmas tunes from around the world with Jesus, the Messiah at the heart of it all.
“This show has something for young and old alike and it is truly a great way for the entire family to celebrate the Christmas season,” Keith Thibodeaux, Ballet Magnificat Executive Director said.

The Mississippi Book Festival, a nonprofit founded by literacy advocates, launched in August 2015 on the State Capitol grounds and continues to draw thousands to its annual “literary lawn party” and book lovers’ celebration.
The historic setting and lovely grounds of the Mississippi State Capitol, nearby Galloway church, and surrounding streets become a book lover’s playground with hundreds of visiting authors, panel discussions, book signings, booksellers, Capitol tours, food trucks, and family-friendly activities.

Pumpkins in the Park is Saturday, October 16! Bring the family out for an evening of pumpkin decorating and live music! Starting at 5:30pm the Patrick Harkins Band will be performing on Belhaven Park Stage. Pumpkins are provided for children along with a decorating kit courtesy of Keifer’s Restaurant. Bring a chair or a picnic blanket and visit with neighbors!
