2021 Date Coming Soon!

Pumpkins in the Park kicks off the fall and celebrates the fun and creativity that is so alive in Belhaven.

Each year on the first Saturday of October, the park fills up with children, colorful paint, and fun decorations. Each child gets a free pumpkin to decorate while supplies last. During the decorating, a local musician plays live music for kids. After the pumpkins are decorated and the sun starts to go down, the big screen lights up with a classic movie. People bring chairs, blankets, and even a bean bag or two.

Neighbors and visitors from around the metro area enjoy this fun-filled celebration. Keifer’s Restaurant provides pumpkins and support for this event, which is also funded by Arts Series sponsors Bradley Arrant Boult Cummings, Funderburg, Sessums & Peterson, PLLC, Keifers, and Fenian’s.

“My son enjoys painting and decorating a pumpkin. There are so many different fun art supplies. He also likes playing with the other children. The park is a great safe space for kids to run around and for neighbors to reconnect. It’s also nice to see families from other parts of the city who come to enjoy the fun.”
