Land Use Plan

In 2005, we became the first neighborhood in Jackson to tackle comprehensive rezoning since 1974. Our Fortification and North State Street commercial corridors are now enhanced by appropriate mixed-use zoning that allows for pedestrian-friendly retail, office and residential developments.

Studies showed that the most potential, the greatest energy, the most dynamic real estate was smack in the middle of six blocks directly east of Baptist Health Systems, sandwiched between Fortification and Poplar and North State and Jefferson streets.
