Bright Lights Belhaven Nights Announces Music Line-Up

The Greater Belhaven Foundation (GBF) is pleased to announce the music line-up for the 14th Annual Bright Lights Belhaven Nights (BLBN) event scheduled for August 11, 2018. This family fun event, presented by Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, C Spire, The Manship, Southern Beverage Company and Medical Practice Solutions, features Robert Randolph & The Family Band as well as upcoming thirteen-year-old singer, actress, and songwriter Elam Roberson.

Robert Randolph & The Family Band is an American funk and soul band led by pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph. NPR has described the band as one with an “irresistible rock ‘n’ roll swagger”. Rolling Stone has also included Randolph upon their list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. The band has been Grammy nominated a sum of three times altogether.

Elam Roberson, a native of the Belhaven neighborhood, has a rapidly growing fan base of all ages being discovered through radio and social networks. She recently released four new singles G.N.O, Beauty Queen, Stand Up, and Your Own Kind of Beautiful. She has spent the last few years working with top music industry producers and has made many appearances with other artists in YouTube and music videos.

Set in the historic Belhaven neighborhood, the street festival is an end-of-the-summer tradition that celebrates all things that make Greater Belhaven a great place to work, live and play, including art, music, children’s activities and food. Bright Lights Belhaven Nights has repeatedly been named a Top 20 Event in the Southeast for the month of August by the Southeast Tourism Society. The historic Belhaven neighborhood also was designated as one of American Planning Association’s “Great Neighborhoods in America 2014.”
